Competition Terms and Conditions

1. The Promoter                    

1.1 The promoter is Smart Energy GB, company number 08455995, whose registered office is at Crane Building, 22 Lavington Street, London SE1 0NZ.                   

2. The Prize Draw           

2.1 The Prize Draw is free to enter, and winners will be selected at random from valid entries received by Smart Energy GB.                    

3. How to enter                    

3.1 The period when you can submit your entry to the Prize Draw will run from 0900 GMT on 17/04/2026 (the “Opening Time”) until the closing time of 01/05/2026 at 2359 GMT (the “Closing Time”) inclusive. Competition entries after these dates will not be counted.      

3.2 Your entry must be received by Smart Energy GB by no later than the Closing Time. All entries received after the Closing Time are invalid.    

3.3 By entering, you will be asked whether you wish to receive marketing communications from us. Choosing to opt in is voluntary and not a condition of entry.     

3.4 No purchase is necessary.    

3.5 Smart Energy GB does not accept responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed, regardless of cause, including (for example) as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.    

3.6 By submitting your entry to the Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.                   

4. Eligibility                    

4.1 The Prize Draw is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over, except for:    

(a) employees, contractors and workers of Smart Energy GB;    

(b) employees of Rugby League Commercial (or any affiliates, subsidiaries, commercial partners, advertising or promotion agencies of Rugby League);    

(c) anybody who is professionally connected with the Prize Draw or its administration; or   

(d) members of the immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouses, and life partners) or households of anyone referred to in clause

4.1 (a) to (c) above who may not enter the Prize Draw.               

4.2 By entering the Prize Draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and to claim any Prize that you win. Smart Energy GB may require you to prove that you are eligible to enter the Prize Draw, for example by providing ID.    

4.3 Smart Energy GB will not accept entries that are:    

(a) automatically generated by computer;    

(b) completed by third parties or in bulk;    

(c) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with; or    

(d) incomplete.    

4.4 There is a limit of one entry to the Prize Draw per person. Entries on behalf of another person and joint entries are not allowed.    

4.5 Smart Energy GB may disqualify you if they reasonably believe that your conduct is in breach of these terms and conditions, fraudulent or otherwise contrary to the spirit or intention of the Prize Draw.                  

5. The Prize                    

5.1 There is one prize available to be won. The prize consists of:     

One set of two tickets, permitting the winner and one guest to attend a Rugby League match of their choice during the 2026 season.    

5.2 The specific match the winner chooses to attend will be agreed between the winner and Smart Energy GB following winner notification. Match availability may vary, and tickets for certain fixtures may be subject to capacity or scheduling restrictions.    

5.3 The prize is limited to the match tickets only. Travel, accommodation, food, beverages, merchandise or any other expenses associated with attending the match are not included and are the sole responsibility of the winner and their guest.  

5.4 The prize is non-transferable, non-exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash or any other alternative. No substitution will be offered except where the Prize (or any part of it) becomes unavailable, in which case Smart Energy GB reserves the right to provide an alternative ticket option of equal or greater value.    

5.5 To claim the Prize, the winner must respond to Smart Energy GB’s notification email and provide any requested information within 48 hours of the email being sent. If the winner does not respond within this timeframe, the Prize may be forfeited and offered to another eligible entrant selected at random.     

6. Winners             

6.1 Smart Energy GB’s decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered.    

6.2 All qualifying entrant email addresses will be entered into a random prize draw selector via https://commentpicker.com/random-name-picker.php?utm_content=cmp-true and one winner will be chosen.    

6.3 Smart Energy GB will contact the winners by email as soon as reasonably practicable after the Closing Time by email.    

6.4 Smart Energy GB must make available information that indicates that a valid Prize award took place. To comply with this obligation, Smart Energy GB will send the surname and county of Prize winners (and copies of any winning entries, if applicable) to anyone who emails [email protected] within one month after the Closing Time. If you object to your surname or county being made available, you may notify us at [email protected]. In such circumstances, we may still need to provide this information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request, but we will take reasonable steps to limit wider exposure.                 

7. Claiming a Prize                   

7.1 If you win the Prize, you will have 48 hours after Smart Energy GB sends you an email to claim your Prize, as described in paragraph 5.5 above. If you do not claim the Prize by this date, your claim will become invalid, and you will not be entitled to the Prize.    

7.2 The Prize may not be claimed by someone else on your behalf.    

7.3 Smart Energy GB will make reasonable efforts to contact the Prize winners by the email submitted with the registration form. If you do not respond within 48 hours after Smart Energy GB’s email is sent, Smart Energy GB may offer the prize to another randomly selected eligible entrant from the valid entries that were received before the Closing Time.    

7.4 Smart Energy GB does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the Prize.    

7.5 Winners may be asked to provide identification and proof of address proving their eligibility before they are entitled to receive any Prize.                   

8. Limitation of liability                  

As far as permitted by law, Smart Energy GB, their agents and distributors are not in any circumstances liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Prize, except where this is caused by the negligence of Smart Energy GB, their agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.                    

9. Ownership of entries and intellectual property rights                     

9.1 Smart Energy GB do not claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry.    

9.2 You agree that Smart Energy GB may, but are not required to, make your entry available on their websites and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the Prize Draw. You grant Smart Energy GB non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in your entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-license the entry and any accompanying materials for those purposes. You also agree to waive all moral rights in and to your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled anywhere in the world.                 

10. Data protection and publicity                      

10.1 Smart Energy GB is the data controller responsible for the personal information you provide when entering this Prize Draw.    

10.2 We will collect and process the following information: your name, email address, LinkedIn account name, and any other details required to verify eligibility and contact the winner.    

10.3 We process your personal data for the purposes of administering the Prize Draw, selecting winners, contacting winners and complying with the CAP Code. The lawful basis for this processing is our legitimate interests in operating the Prize Draw. These interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms, as the data we process is minimal and necessary for administering the Prize Draw.    

10.4 We will not use your personal information for marketing unless you have separately given us your clear, specific consent    

10.5 We use a third-party provider, CommentPicker.com, to randomly select the winner. This means your email address and/or name will be processed by this provider solely for the purpose of selecting a winner. Details about their data processing practices can be found in their privacy notice. Appropriate contractual and security safeguards are in place to protect your data. CommentPicker.com will not use entrant data for any purpose other than running the prize draw.  

10.6 We will retain personal data of all entrants for up to 3 months after the Closing Time, and the personal data of the winner for up to 12 months, unless a longer period is required by law.    

10.7 You have the right to request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, objection to processing or restriction of processing. You may exercise these rights by contacting [email protected].

11. General                    

11.1 If Smart Energy GB reasonably believes that you have breached these terms and conditions, Smart Energy GB may (at its sole discretion) exclude you from participating in the Prize Draw.    

11.2 Smart Energy GB may void, suspend, cancel or amend the Prize Draw if it becomes necessary to do so.    

11.3 Smart Energy GB cannot guarantee the performance of any third party and shall not be liable for any act or default by a third party.   

11.4 These terms and conditions are governed by English law. All entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are resident in Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are resident in Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
